Sunday Snippet

The worldly life of the unbeliever is a burdensome vanity. You drag yourself all over the world looking for life, that elusive thing that eludes you at every corner, leaving you with a feeling that in the end you are going to be cheated out of it altogether. It is not so for the Christian believer because, in Christ Jesus, there is life which is eternal, life the world can neither give or take away. You can look all the experiences of the world square in the face, even though they may make you tremble, because in the depth of your heart, by your faith in God through Jesus Christ and by the indwelling Holy spirit, you can say that the best is yet to be. Ask worldly people if their philosophy of life allows them to make such a claim.

About Campbell

Now retired but once upon a time a parish minister in Glasgow, before that the South West and initially the Black Isle. Been a prison chaplain and lecturer. Still am constantly bemused by the weird world around me.
