CHOCOLATE MUST BE IDEOLOGICALLY PURE

Those caring LGBTQ activists seem to be constantly on watch just in case an unsuspecting public eat something which does not bear their stamp of approval. Day after day must be spent in grinding, ceaseless toil examining company directories, adverts, public statements and Twitter feeds searching for the heretics who disagree with their agenda.

All this labour on our behalf to protect us from the horror of consuming a foodstuff which fails their ideological test. And are we thankful? Give your own answer.

There have been attempts to drive Christian bakers out of business and regulate what chicken sandwiches we eat. Now they wish to run ideological purity checks on the chocolate we consume. Continue reading “CHOCOLATE MUST BE IDEOLOGICALLY PURE”

TWO RADICALLY OPPOSED VIEWS OF SOCIETY

A blithely unaware Church is under existential threat in the West. The problems occupying the Church today are superficial in comparison with the underlying threat.

Globalisation This is the worldwide process of growing collaboration and amalgamation among people, companies, and governments. Whilst primarily an economic process of interaction and integration, globalisation has profound social and cultural implications. Continue reading “TWO RADICALLY OPPOSED VIEWS OF SOCIETY”

ECHR – IT’S NO CRIME TO SAY JESUS IS SUPERIOR TO MOHAMMED

On 25 October 2018 the European Court of Human rights (ECHR) approved the conviction in Austria of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff for hate speech after describing the prophet Muhammad as a paedophile. Yet on 5 December 2019 the same court censured the government of Azerbaijan for convicting two journalists who were highly critical of Islam.See the source image

In November 2006 two well-known Azerbaijani journalists, Rafig Nazir oglu Tagiyev and Samir Sadagat oglu Huseynov wrote an article entitled ‘Europe and us’ in Sanat Gazeti, a newspaper of which Mr Huseynov was editor-in-chief. In the article they dared to compare Islam and Europe, to the detriment of Islam. Continue reading “ECHR – IT’S NO CRIME TO SAY JESUS IS SUPERIOR TO MOHAMMED”

DISAGREEMENT IS NOT VIOLENCE

It can seem as though the progressive steamroller is unstoppable. Whenever they take on traditional Scripture-based morality, the mainstream churches and the political establishment regularly collapse like leaky balloons. However, it is possible to fight back and begin to win, especially when Christians organise and work together.See the source image

Last year Justice Francesca Marzari of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada, declared a father guilty of ‘family violence’ against his 14-year-old daughter.

For a father to be convicted of acts of violence upon his daughter is exceedingly serious. What was the nature of the violence? Did he beat her? Make her walk to school barefoot in the snow? Was it perhaps even worse, sexual abuse? None of these. The father had referred to his daughter as a girl. Continue reading “DISAGREEMENT IS NOT VIOLENCE”

MALLEABLE MODERATES OPEN DOOR TO RELENTLESS MODERNISTS

The second largest Christian denomination in the USA, with roughly half of its 13million global members living in the United States, has agreed to split over the issue of same-sex marriage.See the source imageThe United Methodist Church, a denomination long home to a wide mix of theological opinion, has been experiencing tensions for decades. The split, which has been a long time in coming, is the inevitable outcome of long-lasting institutional reluctance to maintain doctrinal clarity. It will take formal effect after the denomination’s General Conference in May. Continue reading “MALLEABLE MODERATES OPEN DOOR TO RELENTLESS MODERNISTS”

HOME OFFICE BIAS AGAINST CHRISTIANS

It would be difficult to make a case for Boris Johnson being a fine upstanding example of Christian manhood. Yet the prime minister’s Christmas address was refreshingly clear with its emphasis on the birth of Christ and in his support for persecuted Christians:

‘I want us to remember those Christians around the world who are facing persecution. For them, Christmas Day will be marked in private, in secret, perhaps even in a prison cell.

Boris Johnson promises to help persecuted Christians

‘As Prime Minister, that’s something I want to change. We stand with Christians everywhere, in solidarity, and will defend your right to practise your faith.’

Johnson has a great deal of work to do to clear out the institutional bias within the UK Home Office against Christians. One independent report claims that when it comes to offering asylum, the UK ‘appears to discriminate in favour of Muslims.’ Continue reading “HOME OFFICE BIAS AGAINST CHRISTIANS”

LIBERAL CHRISTIANITY TRIUMPHS

                                                                                                     Bishop Stephen Cottrell

In an article in the Church Times on his proposed elevation it is reported he has warned the church that because of the biblical teaching regarding homosexuality it is ‘seen as immoral by the culture in which it is set’. The bishop’s proposed response to this is to suggest that the church should offer prayers of thanksgiving for LGBT relationships, even going so far as to say, ‘perhaps a eucharist’ should be offered.
