CHRISTIANITY MARGINALISED

Western civilisation is built upon a foundation of Christianity. It is no coincidence that as Christianity fades in the West so do those values which have distinguished the West: tolerance, freedom of conscience, the value of all life and personal responsibility. Those values which we have taken for granted are in serious danger, and the more Christianity is pushed out of the national conversation the greater the danger.

Growing Intolerance The abandonment of toleration as a civic virtue is deeply troubling.  There is evidence of increasing intolerance, harassment and discrimination being shown to Christians in Britain today. It is important that Christians wake up to the growth of attacks on British Christians and our beliefs before it develops into something much worse.

Shared social fabric

A society can be characterised by what we share: the beliefs, values and traditions which shape the attitudes and actions of those who live within the society. This shared perspective enables individuals to live together and co-operate despite having differing personal dreams and goals. We are able to recognise the common good and work within it without losing our individual personality.

Every society, if it is to survive, must adapt to changing circumstances or atrophy and die. We face different events, encounter outside influences and learn from the success and failure of past endeavours. Change, however, must be gradual and grow organically from a shared desire to develop.

THE DANGEROUS HYPOCRISY OF ‘LUXURY BELIEFS’

What difference does it make to society if a people are Christian or not? Surely what a person believes is a purely personal matter which has no impact on others? As Nietzsche pointed out, when God dies so does morality. When individuals and then a people turn from Christianity, something is going to take its place, and it is never good.

The LGBTQI+ movement is something which is seen only in the late stages of a civilisation.

Luxury Beliefs

Rob Henderson, an American scholar, has coined the term ‘luxury beliefs’ to describe those values promoted by Western elites which act as status symbols. In the past, the elites showed their wealth and status by displaying their luxury goods. However, today even hoi polloi have access to items such as cars, telephones and foreign holidays, so the elites now display their status by developing a set of ‘luxury beliefs’. 

THE WORLD’S MOST TOTALITARIAN CONVERSION THERAPY BAN

Scotland has become a progressive Petri dish where woke ideas are cultivated, brought to virulent reality and let loose on the public.

Wishing to create a new criminal offence of attempting to change a person’s sexuality or gender identity, Scotland’s SNP/Green administration established an Expert Advisory Group on Ending Conversion Practices (EAG). The resulting EAG ‘Report and Recommendations’ outlines 32 ‘guiding principles’ which, if implemented in a Bill to be presented to the Scottish Parliament later this year, could prohibit practices such as talking therapies, parental chats, prayer and preaching.

If these recommendations are passed into law this year Scotland is going to become a dangerous place for concerned parents and Christians.

The Christian Institute warns: ‘If the Scottish government follows the advice of its Expert Advisory Group it will be exceeding its powers and inflicting the most totalitarian conversion therapy ban in the world.’ The Scottish government welcomed the report.

THE MILITANT WOKE RELIGION SWEEPING THE WEST

Religion is flourishing amongst the youth of the West, and a particularly intolerant fundamentalist religion at that.

Our schools and universities are raising religious zealots who are more than willing to seek out and punish heretics. They are the missionaries of the woke generation who are out to convert the world. They are passionate, true believers with blind faith in their beliefs, they hold their doctrines wholeheartedly and are ever eager to spring into noisy action; unbelievers will be brought to heel.

The Church of Intersectionality has a stranglehold on our education and media, with chaplains in every school and university department and preachers in every studio and newsroom.
